SAFETY IN THE COVID-19 ENVIORNMENT
The safety and protective measures needed to slow the spread of COVID-19 have taken an unprecedented toll on the nation’s education system and transportation services that support it. The STA Family of Companies is dedicated to the health and safety of our employees, passengers, and customers. We are actively monitoring and respectfully following the safety guidelines recommended by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as other federal, sate, and local governing bodies. Guidance from this approach has framed the policies, procedures, and protocols that we are implementing to protect the health of our workforce and customers. As circumstances surrounding COVID-19 continue to evolve, we remain fully committed to adapt and implement changes in order to continue providing our communities with the level of first-class safety and service for which our company is known, as well as maintaining a high confidence for all of our employees.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

  • Drivers and monitors will wear face masks at all times on company or school property, while operating a vehicle, and when interacting with others.
  • Gloves are available to drivers upon request.
  • Should the school district require stricter guidelines, we will adhere to their guidance standards.

SCHOOL BUS CLEANING & SANITATION

  • All vehicles will be cleaned in accordance with applicable federal, state, local, and district guidelines.
  • Every vehicle will be cleaned regularly, including the driver compartment and all high-touch surfaces, using cleaning materials approved by the CDC and EPA.
  • In the event of a bus swap, we will clean the driver’s compartment and all high-touch surfaces before the vehicle is put into use.

STUDENT MANAGEMENT & LOADING PROCEDURES

  • When possible, students should load vehicles from back to front. Students should unload from front to back.
  • All students should have assigned seating.
  • Members of the same families should sit together, provided the driver can confirm family members.
  • If required by the school district, students should wear appropriate PPE.
  • Seat spacing should be considered when possible, allowing for social distancing.
